Explore the northern province of Minho and its quaint villages on this full-day tour from Porto.

Welcome to this Catholic Churches tour from Porto to Braga, Guimarães, Viana do Castelo, and Valença do Minho. 

This tour will last between 8 to 10 hours and will take you through some of the most beautiful and historic churches in Portugal.

Our first stop will be the Cathedral of Porto, located in the heart of the city. This Romanesque-Gothic church dates back to the 12th century and houses several treasures, including the silver altarpiece and the Baroque organ. 

From here, we will head to the Church of São Francisco, famous for its opulent Baroque interior decorated with gold leaf.

Next, we will make our way to Braga, known as the "Rome of Portugal" due to its abundance of churches. 

Our first stop here will be the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that features a Baroque staircase with 573 steps leading to the church at the top. 

We will also visit the Braga Cathedral, which combines Romanesque, Gothic, and Baroque styles.

From Braga, we will continue on to Guimarães, where we will visit the Chapel of São Miguel, a small 13th-century Romanesque church with unique sculptural elements. We will also stop at the Church of Nossa Senhora da Oliveira, a Gothic-style church with an impressive tower and beautiful stained-glass windows.

Our next stop will be Viana do Castelo, where we will visit the Basilica of Santa Luzia, located on a hilltop with stunning views of the city and the sea. This Neoclassical church was built in the early 20th century and features a monumental staircase and impressive domes.

Finally, we will end our tour in Valença do Minho, where we will visit the Church of São Teotónio, a Romanesque-style church dating back to the 13th century. This church features a beautiful portal and a unique octagonal bell tower.
